Chibi style, whole thing screams low budget.
Everything else is fine. Gameplay is pretty good, great Battle Tower, more pokemon in the Underground, streamlined HMs for autists who keep bitching about them, and gyms and especially the E4 are strong.

They took DP and didn't even pretend to fix it. Plat at least tried, and somehow successfully convinced kids at the time it wasn't also a mess because there was a Giratina sidequest and a few bugs fixed. BDSP don't even do that. They just update graphics and a few mechanical improvements and leave the rest of the game as the same decade old disaster.
