The problem with fanmade battle themes is that 99% of them stick to the harmonic minor keys and don't do anything interesting, so they just end up sounding like generic JRPG battle themes with the Pokémon battle intro slapped in at the beginning.

Sounds alright to me. The production's a little in-cohesive and not great, clearly made by someone not super experienced, but the mixing is clear enough. It follows all the patterns you'd expect from Pokémon battle music, but just a little edgier. It's fine OP.
