Hitmontop was the original dancer Fighting type. Pirouette Meloetta was next.
They are fighting because it takes physical stamina and developed muscles to dance.
Also Quaquaval dex entries:
> A single kick from a Quaquaval can send a truck rolling. This Pokémon uses its powerful legs to perform striking dances from far-off lands.
Just having super strength is enough for Fighting.
