>>53563254The sad part is it wasn't always like that. Hypno's first appearance had it helping insomnias go to sleep (the children going missing was purely accidental, and even then Drowzee fixed it). And even in the Advanced Era there was a Hypno that just wanted to Party with the other Psychic types.
Thing is, I actually like idea of some Pokémon being creepy bugbears that spirit away children who aren't careful, and Hypno fits that role. But it ended up getting twisted into something far worse and being pigeon-holed into that role and that's all its allowed to be now.
