They really are. Some good RPGs allow to fastforward the animations or their re-release come packed with a faster option. Pokémon has hardly anything to offer that justifies not playing it at 200 or 300% speed.

It's not even that, it's just that Pokemon is so fucking slow regardless. Persona/SMT for instance have really fast animations on everything so fights feel quick and not slogs, you only really need the fastforward for grinding or backtracking.
It's even more baffling considering most RPGs are usually 4 PCs vs multiple enemies and Pokemon is just 1v1s for 99% of it and it's STILL incredibly slow turn to turn.
