A great deal of Pokemon are given obviously Masculine or Feminine designs (Inciniroar vs Primarina being notable examples) with gender ratios only existing as a gameplay allowance for the breeding mechanic. Literal millennia of artistic evolution has created certain design sensibilities that are universally understood to reflect the portrayed entity being a Guy or Gal.
