I'll admit Cosmic Type isn't literally perfect—I don't think any perfect Type ideas still exist this late in the franchise's life cycle—but EVENTUALLY GameFreak is going to decide they just don't give a shit, and they want to force a new Type anyway for the money. Well if we HAVE to have one, Cosmic Type is easily among the best ideas that wouldn't turbo-fuck things out of order too bad.

I often see people misunderstand what Cosmic Type would even be. Cosmic isn't a location, it's about cosmic manipulation as a sort of elemental energy. It's like Water Type. You don't NEED to live in water to be Water Type, nor do all aquatic creatures have that Type. They're just highly correlated. What ACTUALLY defines Water Type is whether or not that creature specializes in water elemental energy manipulation. Same shit about Cosmic Type, they are defined by their specialty in cosmic-based elemental stuff. They get their powers from the stars or are thematically associated with cosmic stuff or they just have attacks that are space-based. It's not really that weird. It's certainly not weird or difficult enough to understand that it can't work. Cosmic energy is a common thing in fiction and a lot of Pokémon fit under it.
