>>53581934>>53581975I remember as a kid I felt really challenged by the stretch after Fortree because I followed the grunts on route 121 and didn’t notice I could go east. Ended up exploring route 120, 121, 122/Mt pyre (inner and outer), and route 123 all in one go.
To this day that memory is burned into my skull because my family was taking me to visit my grandparents in Florida at the time, and I remember this whole stretch just being infinitely more fun because it was distracting me from the several hour long car ride.
Plus I have nostalgic memories of Florida, I grew up in a colder climate so it was always a great change of scenery. And of course it suited a Hoenn playthrough perfectly since I was one of those kids who took their GBA everywhere while their family took them from place to place. Something about playing Ruby outside as a kid, in an area relatively foreign to me, created some of the most surreal and nostalgic memories I have.
