>>53584787I simply believe that it will be a very bad situation if we become so inundated with AI art that, for instance, all the google image results when you search for a character become AI images rather than either official art, traditionally created fanart, photographs of merchandise, etc. Currently that is not an issue in the slightest, however the amount of images being generated is going to increase and increase as the technology becomes easier to acquire, faster to use and rules limiting its spread continue to be lax. My concern isn't about artists themselves, it is about the ability to search for and acquire proper content. Again, to repeat the example, let's say the entire google image search results page for a character is now all AI images, and let's say half of those images were of a low standard with bad errors like seven fingered hands or a bellybutton on their knee. That means that if I were to just quickly grab one of those images and use them in a youtube video/article/etc. there would be a 50/50 chance I grabbed one of the fucked up ones and didn't notice, and then the spread of that image is increased. Maybe you don't think that kind of thing will be a problem or just don't care, but I think it's going to lead to things getting even shitter than they are already.
