I understand drawing a few characters off model to play into certain attributes. Most of the time though, a character is drawn so wildly different from their size, shape, age and personality - all at the same time - that I have no earthly idea why THAT character was even used as a template. Virtually 100% of the time there's multiple well known characters that would have fit what the artist was going for. Without having to twist a shy plain kid into a super stacked giga stacy cosplaying as a fourth grader. It's fucking weird. I guess they just like the hair and outfit and absolutely. nothing. else.
