I remember one of the edgy ones had a ghost gym leader whose Gengar was actually his dad who died and became a ghost or something like that. It was like 10 years ago or more.

Sounds cringe but not surprised with all these edgy Pokemon creepypastas (with the only good one being Pokemon CreepyBlack).

Which is a shame cuz the main Pokemon game has many great spooky/horror moments (especially with ghost Pokemon's Pokedex entries).
