Yes, many great, many terrible designs. But still, I think they were trying to be a little bit more edgy this gen and added cooler looking pokemon. Wich is why it often gets compared to digimon

because gen 5 pokemon were designed to stand on their own instead of being an expansion pack to make KANTOOO look stronger/cooler/better in comparasion. Game Freak didn't sabotage Gen 5 pokemon by shoving GENWUN Pokemon into Unova and forcing Gen 5 Pokemon to be "filler" in their own generation.

I'd like Gamefreak to design more edgy-cool Pokemon. A lot of the more liked Unova pokemon seem to share a kind of aesthetic that I wish more mons had.
