Another dead giveway is that they ignore the pattern eveyr paradox form that currently exists follows, in that they're all based on the highest naturally evolving (i.e. by levelup, instead of stones or trading) form of the pokemon line. Paradox forms of the Voltorb, Trapinch, and Swablu lines should be based on Electrode, Flygon, and Altaria, as they all evolve via levelup, while paradox Poliwrath should instead be Poliwhirl as Poliwrath requires a water stone to evolve.

They don't seek out any sort of inspiration. They just look at the current pastmons, take a sidestep, and grab what's there for their fanmade paradox.

Way to not understand the Paradox design philosophy. Pre-evolutions should only be past paradoxes. It just make sense. Pokemon from the past eventually evolved into modern pre-evolutions. It’s why Scream Tail, Flutter Mane, Sandy Shocks, and Slither Wing exist, and no future Paradoxes are pre-evolutions. Do they the real evolution stuff.

What would you rather have them to do instead? Make one of the pokemon from the future be a hyperrealistic looking 3D animal? Have some gardevoir/lopunny/-human hybrids running around? Finally make Mewthree a thing even though it would make more sense to be like a robot and then have Mew be the future pokemon found only in Scarlet? Pokemon is a one step forward one step back kind of franchise, you can't just make a plethora of different creative creatures mixed in with both versions that would be like taking two whole steps which is not what we do at Game Freak.
