Like I'm not offended by it or anything but it's like, big tits on the women is one thing, but it feels unbelievable in-universe that a 12-year-old in not-Japan is just casually wearing this weird fetish bikini thing that I guess the perverts at the Pokemon League made specifically for her because it has their emblem on it.
Overall it's super nostalgic to me, I think the art's great, and I like it and its take on the Pokemon universe more than Pokespe when it comes to Pokemon manga, and that it basically feels like if the anime was done much better. Even incredibly minor shit like the characterization of Misty's sisters really stood out to me and made an impression. I really wish Ono had gotten the chance to tell a single continuous story in the Pokemon universe and/or get to adapt later games, instead of more or less being forced into adapting random anime episodes. Like, it's still a really enjoyable read but I'd be curious about his takes on later stuff in the universe and/or what kind of story he would've been able to tell in a less restricted format.
Then again from the rest of his work it seems he mostly just wanted to draw porn, and if that's the case then he's probably having more fun doing that anyway.
