>>53609566Here's my thoughts/complaints:
I should not be overleveled if I battle every trainer and every wild pokemon I encounter on route to my destination.
If Exp Share was always on, but XP yields were lower, then I would have no complaints.
If Exp Share was toggleable, then I could leave it on until things start getting slightly higher than the trainers I'm facing, start rotating my leads to spread things out, and then turn it back on after facing the gym leader or whatever.
As it stands, I have to heavily babysit my level and run from wild pokemon and avoid trainer battles to not end up steamrolling everything in the game, because ExpShare is always on and a reasonable number of battles overlevels you.
BUT THEN the game punishes me for avoiding those trainers, because now after I've beaten the game I
m having to go back through all the routes defeating all the trainers, that are now no challenge at all, to get the free league items, all the TMs and held items and such.
In Sword and Shield I had to solve it by using a constantly rotating team, I would catch one of every pokemon line as I met them, use them in order of evolution level it until it fully evolved, and then swap to the next NFE. By the end I had a decent challenge the whole way through and a full pokedex. The XP gains were so fucking ludicrous it almost felt like playing an old gen normally.
