>>53614322 and I don't even watch the anime, or more like I haven't watched it in pretty much decades aside from some stuff from the early Kanto episodes when it was pretty much a completely different show. I'm a little curious about some of the stuff it did in the years/seasons I never watched, but not curious enough yet to check it out because like I said, it's mostly just bland and repetitive and that's not worth watching 1000+ episodes for.
I started reading Special relatively recently and was pretty excited about it at first, but slowly got pretty disappointed with it as I realized it relies a lot on the stuff I bitched about. Like I didn't bring up "thunder armor" etc. to make the anime look better; just to state the simple fact that some dumb one-off anime thing I don't even remember the context on gets like hundreds of posts bitching about it to this day if you check the archives (
https://archive.palanq.win/vp/search/text/%22thunder%20armor%22/), but Pokespe pulling the exact same kind of thing far more frequently just gets "omg so epic" because it has a comparatively smaller audience in English-speaking fan circles. I think Pokespe has the POTENTIAL to easily be great since it actually concludes it arcs and has different main characters etc., but it just gets dragged down by constant lazy writing and some of the author's own autistic decisions he insists on every time. Also the art's mediocre.
I mean if I'm defending anything here it's mostly the games because I actually have fun playing those (also I haven't played every single recent game yet so this isn't a genwar thing; I don't know how much the most recent ones do or don't suck). I wish there was a currently running Pokemon manga or anime that I got more enjoyment out of than either of those two. That's about it.
