First off it’s Gen 1, so all the broken balance of Gen 1 comes into play, psychics are OP, speed determines crit, etc
Second the move sets provided offer little coverage on fully evolved Pokémon, so it’s literally choose between stats and moves
Third, the actual stats are very bad on all the rentals, and the opponents start using fully EV/DV trained Pokémon towards the end
Fourth, I don’t know if it’s been proven, but the game seems to give favorable RNG to enemy team. Your shit will miss, you will never wake up from sleep, you will get hit by 3 horn drills in a row.
Yea you can beat souls game with a broken sword, doesn’t make it fun.
