Why don’t the games have a “DODGE IT” command like Ash always uses in the anime that lets you dodge everything, even moves that never miss?

Basically, give everything passive Protect. Then actually remove Protect from the game.

probably quick-time events that'd randomly appear during battle based on friendship, since it already has a chance of happening? This is the only thing that I can think of that'd probably semi-work and wouldn't fuck up competitive entirely. Still shit idea.

That kinda kills the game. In a single play through, you just spam the dodge button and never get hit. Or, if it's a qte, then baby tier reaction time means you win without taking damage. We know GF is gonna make it for infants, so why make the games even easier?

And the reaction time will be calculated from the speed of the Pokemon you fight against, the speed of your Pokemon and a new speed stat from the attack, creating some combinations where some attacks are undodgeable at first but can become more and more easy to dodge as you level up. These dodgeable attacks only affect the single target attack.

Anime is not bounded by the same game mechanics that exist as just vague representation of Pokemon battles is purest, most hopeless and most uncurable form of autism.
And while "Dodge!!!" command don't exist directly, there are already mechanics that allow your Pokemon to avoid being hit. Wanna feel like Ash Ketchup? Just scream like a retard that you are when your opponents uses <100 Acc move or you're behind some evasion-boosting stuff.

If it helps the autism of making a 1:1 comparison. I just think of "dodge it!" as if he's using protect, but without the annoyance of having to write in a way for any of his pokemon to completely shrug off an entire attack by actually using protect - so they just evade it instead

It's literally the affection bonuses in action. Dodging attacks that should rightly hit your Pokemon, surviving attacks that should kill them (sometimes several times in a row with 1 HP), purging themselves of status effects even without a healing item 'so you don't worry', etc. All the anime does is make it look flashier, but this is basically what's supposed to be going on.

I understand if he's like alerting the Pokemon to something they were aware of, but when he shouts dodge commands ether at very obvious things, or is commanding a pokemon who is quicker than he can speak like Greninja, it just kind of feels like he's pretending to be more involved.

ITT autists being incapable of understanding that turn based video games are approximations of the reality they're supposed to represent.

The games DO have a "dodge it command", it's just used automatically every turn. If the opponent's attack missed your Pokemon, it's because your Pokemon dodged it.

This. The reason I hate the move to 3d is because the added detail actually works counter to your imagination by trying to show you everything and not even doing it well. I'd rather they either go back to 2d or absolutely fucking nail the 3d world with rdr2 tier attention to detail with every pokemon having unique animation for every attack and response. They have the money to do it.

First is impossible, second is hard, third requires you completely rework speed tiers and all other stats in a system as GF already gave high ATT to mean both "it hits hard" and "it hits with lethality".
Oh, and regardless of implementation you're looking at either MORE RNG about moves hitting or bloated gameplay where stall can reign supreme.
Dodging already exists in move Accuracy, but GF fucked up that implementation entirely. Unironically the 1/256 glitch from gen 1 was kino, and even that was unintentional.

Only way to make dodges interactive and not RNG-reliant, and limited enough to avoid some real horseshit like stallers.

So like Protect as a system mechanic, rather than a move you have to slot? Can't give an intelligent opinion on how this would affect Doubles, but it would be pretty cringe in Singles for several reasons.

It's more like "I have a plan in mind but right now I need you to evade this one to pull it off" he could tell his pokemon to simply take the hit or counter with another attack for two things that immeadiately come to mind. It signals to the Pokemon what they should do to setup for the next thing.
