the east asians know this, to them copyright is a half-joke and they're better for it. some dumb american faggot traced the Bleach manga for clout and it was shit and everyone could tell, and when they asked mangaka's reaction he was like "cool, he must be a fan"
why is this? all mangakas learn by tracing. all anime is traced. this is not to say they also don't learn art basics like perspective and anatomy, but tracing is not frowned upon and actively encouraged, because guess what, great artists steal and reinventing the wheel is retarded.
