Whilst it's mostly based off the mythological version of the salamander, it also draws from the New Mexico whiptail. A species of lizard that is entirely female and can reproduce without the need of males.

Hawaii’s lizard myths can be divided roughly into two categories. Giant enemy lizard, which was interpreted as dragons, and all female, seductress, poisonous water, shapeshifter, lizards. Jangmo-o’s line got one interpretation, while salazzle got the other. They just changed water to fire because Japan loves referencing fire salamanders. Also whiptail lizards.

basically this. salazzle and jangmo-o are cool for the hawaii region just for being the two extremes of lizards (although i still prefer salandit to all of them)

We need a male salandit evo that becomes a Dragon/Fire physical attacker with Poison heal.
Lore is Male salandit that escape control bulk up and become stronger seeing the real world choices they have and chose to live among dragon type mons (they don't breedwith sallazle by choice).
