That’s actually more votes than I was expectations for Emboar. It’s a fine design, but people at the time were sick of fire/fighting starters and there was a lot of hype for a quadruped fire starter too. Then not only did GF drop the ball on that, but the other two were monotype making the set even more disappointing without hidden abilities.
Then game freak learned nothing from this and doubled down with similar problems with the gen 8 starters, but Stockholm syndrome had fully set in with the fanbase by that point.
