It Has STAB Dragon, STAB DARK, Iron Head for cover Faires, Ol' Reliable Earthqauke, and U-turn. and those are just its commonly run moves. What more you need?

Considering that in practise you'll always be running DD, EQ (because you'll prett much always want EQ on any physical attacker that can learn it?) and Acrobatics (to take advantage of booster energy being consumed), you don't really need that many other moves. And for the last slot you still have the option between Crunch (or another STAB dark move), Iron Head, a dragon move, or U-turn (though it really isn't the best U-turn abuser because you want to stay in to benefit from the booster energy boost).

These are all moves that see use in either Singles or VGC. This isn't even a comprehensive list either, there's at least another dozen physical moves that it gets that dont see use due to opportunity cost.

Mega Pidgeot actually has a lot of positive attributes that make it a viable Pokemon in battles.

Firstly, Mega Pidgeot has a high Special Attack stat, which makes it a strong contender for special-based moves. Additionally, it gains the No Guard ability upon Mega Evolving, which increases the accuracy of all of its moves, making it more likely to land critical hits and deal significant damage to opponents.

Its main issue is a lack of a strong reliable stab attack. All its stab moves are 80 bp or less and the ones that aren’t have some sort of drawback. Outrage hasn’t been good since gen 5, dragon rush has always been awful and acrobatics forces you to terra. I use loaded dice scale shot. Minimum 100 bp. Its the best stab move he gets, doesn’t force you to terra, breaks subs and sashes and boosts your speed.

why are you acting like roaring moon doesn't currently have some of the best offensive stats in SV?
pokemon have gotten by with worse movepools and stats, why is it suddenly the end of the world this time?

In the case with Gigalith it's because Game Freak didn't like the idea of a Rock-type Pokémon using a 100% accurate Rock-type move that has more than 60 BP with their highest attacking stat.
