Because they revealed way too much shit during Gen 7. I honestly thought that the abysmal drip feed of reveals during Gen 8 would convince them to reveal a bit more but clearly that's not the case.

What did they reveal during gen 7? Most things were leaked from the demo, not from Corocoro or any other channels

they had a ton of trailers revealing new pokémon almost weekly before the game's release

there were just a few ultra beasts unrevealed before the game came out

pretty sure there were only around 16 pokemon or so left unrevealed by the time of the demo datamine, and 3 of those were just the alola geodude line

Yeah, that thing in the OP is clearly a sentient scale, not Terapagos itself. Thats's why the scales on the hats all have eyes - they're little turtles. But this raises questions about both the AI and the Time Machine, since both were apparently made of these little critters...
