The tochukaso orders its host to suck nutrients from tree roots and trunks, then absorbs most of the nutrition itself. When the Paras evolves into Parasect, the tochukaso takes complete control of the host and does all the thinking.

Well, some people like to use the mons they like and some mons aren't even usable even in Story mode, that's why minigames like pageants should return so people can enjoy their mons without even thinking about using them for fighting and use them solely for contests.
