Probably has the most content of any Pokemon game while Ruby and Sapphire felt kinda barebones upon release (no day night, no animated sprites, the first versions of gen 3 almost look like we lost features until you figure out they added a lot of shit like natures, and random shit like zigzagoon being able to pick up items, etc. That kind of shit) Emerald adds cutscenes, battle tower, tons of post game content that wasn't there.

>platinumDiamond and pearl started off horrifically, painfully slow, so platinum basically made the game playable and had that 3d alternate dimension or whatever. Like added 1 event and made the game PLAYABLE.

>CrystalFor me crystal is my personal favorite because the game is so solid overall to just play through as a fantastic sequel to gen 1. although it doesn't hold a candle to emerald's sheer amount of content. But since we're talking about the 3rd versions only, it just adds suicune hopping around sometimes mostly, kinda gay and pointless shit. Has the best animated pokemon sprites because they didn't just squash and and morph the fuck out of them so that they look like rubber, they actually drew the different sprites. Being able to play as a girl was like the biggest edition which became standard. But they didn't really add all that much.
