Sakurai would be based for putting in Skeledirge over Weedcat. He’d be a gigachad if the Gen 9 rep was actually Wugtrio.
But of course, Sakurai is fucking cringe and a hack, so of course he’ll choose the starter that’s the most humanoid and complete the Greninja/Incineroar/Meowscarada trio. He’ll also add more Fire Emblem characters, Anime game characters (probably Genshin Impact characters too), and makes sure all the DLC characters get special high tier treatment the base roster will never get.

btw, I want Popeye and Mike Tyson (real person) in Smash.
