Surprisingly (for you maybe), I agree with you! You're right, Arceus should have a lot more Pokémon, especially considering it's so focused on catching and completionism
You're right, a crafting system with held items would be even better
Those are just 2 of the things Arceus could have done better. It's not a flaw free game and not even close to perfection. Would you like to know my rating on the game? I would give it, with some effort, a B- or maybe C+
There are many other things that bother me too
But at the end there were still things that made up for it for not being bad
