The good points are things like "Ash's development" or "May", without any recollection what the show itself was actually like. As another anon put it, AG was sterile as hell.
About 50 episodes, they start trying to get a bit more experimental with the plotlines, but they do it in the most bland way possible. For example, there's this goofy episode about a giant Gulpin monster where they have to turn Treeko huge to fight it. It sounds like it should be a wild and fun episode. But it's not. It's just a very boring episode with an interesting premise. With BW, you could at least tell the show was trying to be funny. AG just isn't trying to be anything. It's just THERE.
