After cutting out monsters, free online, GTS and others, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet set a new precedent by cutting another former staple of the series, the usual battle tower, and consequently further shortening post-game.

The worst part is we now know through leaks and DLC part 2 pic it's likely to be sold through DLCs.

How greedy can they be?

Instead of Pokémon home why not just have a new game filled with nothing but new Pokémon and leave the ones that were introduced in their generation? Why do we need both older and newer Pokémon in the games now? In with the new out with the old is how I look at it

At least with the battle tower, we’re not talking about something as egregious as paid online. Hell, I don’t even mind the change of excluding pokemon in concept; always thought it was bordering on immersion breaking that seemingly any pokemon could be native to any region.

The only silver lining is that they aren’t selling half-assed third versions anymore. However, it makes almost no difference when they’re still asking for more money to produce seemingly basic inclusions. Just take more time between releases for fuck’s sake.

Every third version added something good. Crystal introduced the Battle Tower; Emerald had the Battle Frontier; Platinum added new formes tutors that radically changed available movesets, added the legendaries return after fainting thing.
