Azurill's gender ratio is 75% female, 25% male. Marill's gender ratio is 50% female, 50% male. Therefore when female Azurills evolve, they had a 33% chance to swap gender when becoming Marill, predetermined by their personality value.

This glitch was fixed in generation 6, but Azurill is to this date the only Pokemon that could swap genders upon evolving.

If they sold Pokémon Red in the EU now, they'd have to rate it 18's, because of the gambling hall. Gambling in any game is now a default 18's rating over here.

I think in maybe half a dozen gens we'll see, while obviously nothing sexually explicit, the games still need to sell, but i could absolutely see there being canonized pokemon marriage and intimate relationships with pokemon. Hell gen 4 already made it canon that this used to be the case, all we need is another Legends game set in the distant past.
