>>53669433>In BW, it is stated that pokémon choose to stay by their trainers side out of their own volitionYeah just like all the old Southern propaganda about how slaves wanted to stay with their masters, fucking dumbass
>That's why villianous teams spend millions on tech Even ignoring that Hugh in the very next game shits all over that holy fucking headcanon batman. I guess Volo, one of the most evil characters in the franchise who lived in ancient times as a merchant somehow got his hands on the super high tech necessary to keep his Pokemon in line?
The problem is that this series wants Pokemon to be impossibly wise, but also bloodthirsty, but also dindus who can't ever be blamed and get exploited by le evil humans or circumstances beyond their control, and on top of that they're also literally just slaves and it's right to keep them as such because they like it.
The worldbuilding for this entire franchise is beyond fucked down to every minimal detail, which isn't necessarily bad for a kids franchise but the more a game like BW tries to address it the more of a disaster it is. Even Mario games have better worldbuilding than Pokemon and they don't try this shit
