just like people! not all Pokemon are created equal. I don't see a Wurmple being the same, cognitively, as an Alakazam or something, do you?
Not to mention there are pokemon like Porygon...something that is HUMAN CREATED. If we're going to start treating pokemon the same as human, what implications does that have when humans can already create Pokemon? Would that make, at least certain humans, on par with legendaries like the creation trio, given in-universe humans can absolutely create artificial life, and seemingly from scratch?
And before you say it, yes most humans in the Pokemon world are the same sort of generic "NPC"s that the majority of the irl human population are, I'm well aware. But my point stands nonetheless that SOME humans have accomplished things that among pokemon only legendaries have.
