What were they thinking when they made the main character of the new anime a girl??? Most of us Pokémon fans don't exactly relate to girls.

Proportionate to boys children's anime in Japan, Pokemon journeys was more successful with girl children's audience in terms of who watched what. They also did release a journeys manga in a boys child magazine, pretty sure they are curious what will happen when they focus more on the demographic that actually watches the current Pokemon animes etc. Of course part of this is that there is much less girls children's anime nowadays.
