My favorite thing was breeding and they made it a grueling experience, now if you prefer shiny hunting in the world then youll love the changes

The most depressing part is that the game is great conceptually, but it feels so rushed. It's like you are eating a half baked apple cake made by a great cheff, you are sad because you could've probably waited half an hour more for a great cake instead of a mediocre one.

The things I like in Pokemon are pretty basic.
First and foremost I like the actual monsters above all else. Their visual designs, their moves/abilities, the unique way you can battle with them etc. I'm going in mostly blind, and hope to see some good ones because I thought gen 8 had arguably the worst monsters ever.
The second most important thing to me is probably the experience of playing through the region. I like to be surprised by stumbling into a really cool route, entering a new city, hearing a pleasant song suddenly play while I'm traveling, etc. If I think the region sucks, then I think the game sucks. Gen 8 mostly felt like a 3DS game and it was lacking, then you had the Wild Area thing which felt like a tech demo. I hear this one is entirely open world so I'm skeptical but excited.

As many things i hate about SV, i love the region. You can literally go to any gym you want in any order if you get your ride pokemon upgrades (i recommend getting swimming first)
The gyms dont scale with your progression which sucks.
The trainers are optional and mostly stay by the route. The habitats for species are nice, a lot of variety for making a team early on.
Areas are pretty typical, you have your snow mountain, desert, wetlands (no sinking mud), grassy fields etc.
Trading sucks since theres no GTS.
I like it more than sword and shield mainly because the story is 100x better

I had a lot of fun playing through. I've been waiting for this type of play since the first pokemon snap gave me a glimpse of what could be though, so I may be biased. Graphics could be a lot better but it never took me "out of the game". Only other things to watch out for are tera raids being buggy, trannies/roided women, and cut-scenes. Like I felt kinda like I was in a clockwork orange with my eyes pried open trying to get past some of them.

The best game of the 3D era and arguably one of the best of the entire series. The first step towards a new era of Pokemon games, the end of 20 years of the Pokémon world being linear corridors with 3 trainers and 4 patches of grass with random encounters between cities.

Unfortunately also an unfinished and unpolished product that will likely never get fully fixed.

It is bad and it makes me sad. I hope every day for a patch that makes the game run normally, but it fucking chugs and its heinous.

A multi-billion dollar company can't make a 60 dollar game that runs correctly. It's disrespectful and churlish.
I'd swear to christ they did it on purpose just to see if they could.

I thought SwSh were lazy enough with poor animations, hand-holding, and phoned-in wild area (at least it was a neat concept). Then they go and release this unfinished nonsense.
