>>53692236Japan's school life sounds so depressing. You get hard locked into a good or bad ending when you take an exam at 6 years old, you do well, you get access to non-shit schools for the rest of your school life.
You don't do well and there's no second chance, you go to shit schools in shit areas and any "reputable" Japanese university will not even consider you because they deem the education you received at a public school inferior.
No matter which one you go to, you have to stay behind 1 day a week to clean classrooms, deliver paperwork to the teachers office, mop the hallways and more. On those days, you're lucky to leave by 17:30, but if the teacher doesn't like you, you don't get to leave until they do.
But the worst part is you're right, that's where their lives peak because after that they're locked into an office job, where they get treated horribly by older people just because they're young, spend 12 hours a day ass kissing and overworking for a chance to get a promotion once there's a gap in the chain of command. But, surely, the hard workers get the promotions faster? No, they get overworked to the point of suicide or death by exhaustion because they do too much work in that position to be promoted. And to top it off, on a person by person basis, they are very inefficient office workers. The US, Britain, Germany and Canada are more productive when you break it down to individuals, so Japan depends on these people who work themselves to death to keep their (failing) economy afloat.
I like the media and toys that Japan produces, but it's a shit country that no one should want to live in.
