>>53691662Its a bandaid as far as how one had slapped it in the game as a correction, but honestly considering you can find mints by
>grinding raids>purchasing with money>hunting on the groundI fail to see how this is an unsatiafactory solution. Its moderatley rewarded to the players who are playing the game a variety of ways, but if the goal is to achieve having a pokemon of choice with the right nature, breeding and wild encounters also suffice as techniques. Even if you dont have the correct nature to breed, which isnt hard to find any male pokemon in the egg group or ditto with X nature you can breed and hatch 15 pokemon in 15 minutes, and the only requirement there is having peanut butter, butter, and bananas.
Now as I said in
>>53691419, it really boils down to is establishing just how much is too much for a player to want to engage with in order to create a "perfect" specimine candidate. Players in it for breeding or hunting have more they can do with titles, sizes, and shinies, you can get even more out if you WANT to put the effort in, but if all I want is a perfect 5/6 IV pokemon with correct nature, egg moves, ability and have it fully EV trained, how much work and time does that need?
My personal opinion is make rusty bottle caps OR abolish IVs and we're perfect. Items and techniques carry you so far. Catching paradox pokemon with 0 attack/speed IVs or going after specific IVs for case by case reasons (wanting to hit a specific speed or HP benchmark but not 0 or 31 for example) are when it gets pedantic, but I also would like to argue why shouldn't the man willing to put more time into perfecting the team be the one who gets to optimize it this much? I love Showdown and the ability to make pokemon spreads and just jump right into battle with them are amazing, but pokemon by design since day 1 has been more than that.
