The way I did it was by playing through a gen 2 game (silver) then just preparing pokemon in my in-game team for use in stadium 2. Stuff like a snorlax and a tyrannitar. You can even get by with some of the less-used stuff. For instance I was able to make a magneton useful (however I certainly would recommend going for zapdos/raikou instead).

I used to be way more of a genwunner but I just really have grown to appreciate the improvements gen 2 added. I don't like the region itself as much though.

I personally find ACE easier to setup in GS thanks to the coin case glitch, Crystal_ has a handy tutorial on setting up an easy to use multi-purpose ACE setup as well, in that regard I think it's easier to "create" whatever you want in Gold/Silver using that

This was basically me as well. Definitely grew up in Gen 1, watched the anime and had the cards, but started playing the actual games in Gen 2, since my poorfag parents didn't buy me a GBC until then.

You still need a tool like this or an Action Replay to copy your save file. For Round 2 you bet I made teams with max Stat Exp cause fuck doing that with Rentals.
