>>53696863>Crisp, sharp animation>Progression of skill and competence for a character that's already done this song and dance six times already>Enjoyable battles, with training arcs and difficulty overcoming struggles>Sideplot of an attractive companion with a crush on the protagonist, something the anime has previously used only for bit characters or made up by the dub>Sidestory of an older protagonist whacking other mega trainers with his mega zard and taking no shit from anyone>Builds up its plotlines slowly, with (supposed) impending payoffIt's hardly a wonder why immediately shifting from that to a wacky slice of life in Poke-Hawaii is controversial, and then from that to an instant teleport world tour costarring the androgynous Pokemon GO rep and a girl who doesn't like Pokemon isn't received much better. The Sword/Shield plotline only took a few episodes, reunions were a dime a dozen and highly desirable reunions were wasted, and so many characters do shit offscreen that it's a little unbelievable at times. Team Rocket doesn't even catch any new Pokemon there, they just get gacha rentals from a Pelipper, not even the favored Delibird.
