>>53708510>WeavileWould absolutely be better with Ground/Dark typing. The typings that resist Ground and Dark are extremely rare and the good Pokemon among the Flying+Dark/Fairy/Fighting and Hydreigons are even rarer.
With Ground equivalent moves, it overall has better match ups against common walls too. Better against Pex, Dondozo, Melmetal, Magearna, Heatran, Garg, and Kingambit. while also being relatively the same against Corviknight, Gholdengo, and Rotom-Wash. You only lose out against Great Tusk and Landorus-T, which are common but can also be dealt with common offensive waters.
Also don’t underestimate how much defensive utility you’ll have with Ground/Dark. 2 immunities with Rock and Poison resistance is really good. You can more freely run different items because you now resist Stealth Rock instead of requiring Heavy Duty Boots.
>Iron BundleDepends on if it would have gotten something like Special version of Thousand Arrows or not. Which is just like current Iron Bundle because it also heavily relies on Freeze-Dry. If it didn’t have Freeze-Dry, it would for sure be OU and not be remotely as viable in VGC. Sure it’d still have its STABs resisted by Grass, but it’s well worth it having much better defensive utility.
Also look at Flutter Mane. Not a Ground/Water type, but its STAB combo can be easier to wall, it’s slower, and weaker to Priority, yet it still is better than Iron Bundle.
