Is Rescue Team DX bad? I wanted to try it out since Red Rescue Team was one of my favourites when I was a child. Haven't played any other PMD. Is it a bad remake?

Its not *bad* but as the other anon stated the art style is really divisive.
As well as a variety of other issues such as the removal of the base attack on the player. Imo it is the worst of the series, but still entirely playable.
Go play Super or Explorers instead though.

No, it's an unironically great game. The only real problem is the weird artstyle but the game itself looks fine, and a lot better than most modern Pokemon games anyway. It helps it's a remake of the only good PMD game.

Is the artstyle really that divisive? I'm not sure if I just made up this memory but isn't it based on an old pokemon artstyle? It seems like exactly what I imagined PMD to be when I was a child.
Maybe I should try the ds games, but I never had a DS or 3DS, do they look fine emulated? I know some DS games don't look nor feel that great outside their console.

They also use the same shitty models that the main-lines use which just makes the Pokemon look like shit too
