Here is more about my idea of Pokémon Contests that I said in this post:
>>53717202My version uses Hoenn style contests as a base. I would give Pokémon Base Stats for Pokémon Contests and a Contest typing. I would also add a new sixth stat I made up called "Attention" to be the contest equivalent of HP. I will call it ATN for short.
You can bring a full team of six and can switch Pokémon.
Contests no longer last for a fixed five turns. When a Pokémon runs out of ATN they are "Upstaged". When all of a player's Pokémon are Upstaged they lose. That last player remaining is the winner.
If a Pokémon's Contest typing is not suitable for the Contest Category when being sent out or switched in their ATN is halved up to three times depending on how bad the match up is. The ATN lost in this way is evenly given to the other Pokémon.
There is no max Attention like there is max HP. When ever ATN is gained others lose it and when it's lost others gain it. Attention represents how much of the audience's attention the Pokémon has so it always has to go somewhere.
Moves now have targeting like in battles. For most moves you can target the audience like usual or another Pokémon. Every move will at least let you target the audience.
When targeting the audience Your Pokémon gains ATN. The ATN you gain is evenly taken form the all the others.
When targeting another Pokémon they lose ATN which is then evenly given to all the others except the one who used the move.
Jamming still exists and it makes Pokémon lose ATN which is then given to others.
When the result of rounding for gaining and losing ATN is not even then the Pokémon which gain or lose the remainder are chosen randomly.
This is the general idea. I also have ideas for how Double Contests, Triple Contests, Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamax and Gigantamax woudld work. I'm not really sure about what Terastal would do.
