>>53714826Honestly no, because now it's pretty clear that the Pokémon world is not the real one but it's merely based on it. At the time it wasn't so clear, so speculating on it was more viable and fun.
>>53714828So.
Ash used a mix of all his Pokémon, but the main team by the end would have been Pikachu, Charizard, Sceptile, Feraligatr, Staraptor and Primeape. Yes, I made Totodile evolve and Primeape return.
As for the opponents, I first need to explain how the tournament battle worked. I completely ripped off the Beyblade anime and its tournaments, where every national team had three members which faced the opponents in 1v1 battles. So, for example, Gary would have faced opponent number 1, Nika the number 2 and Ash the number 3, the team which reached 2 wins first would advance to the next round. Each team also had a captain, Ash was obviously the captain of Japan team.
The national teams I remember were:
>Italy The host team for the world tournament. Sadly can't remember the names of the three components, but the captain had a Machamp.
>FranceThe strongest team in the world. The captain, Jean, was a wonderkid who already won two consecutive world titles for his team, with Arceus (yes, ARCEUS) at his side. He's the "villain" of the saga.
Gustave is the vice captain, a bald man with Tyranitar as his main. He first met and battled our heroes at the top of Eiffel Tower (hence his name).
Charlotte is the third one, a girl from Mont Saint-Michel with a Salamence on her side.
>EgyptRamses, a pharaoh-like guy, is the captain and he has a vicious Feraligatr. Hany and Cleopatra were his sidekicks.
>IrelandIan, an old man, is the captain. He destroyed Samuel Oak in a world tournament battle when he was younger, so Gary promised to avenge his grandpa. His main is a Gengar.
>ArgentinaPablo is the captain, a hiker-like guy with a Tauros.
>LuxembourgThree guys dressing up as the KKK and robbing other trainers (???)
