Isn't it ironic how they went overboard with these two designs but then the rest of Gen 9 is completely shit?

Nah, they don't even look like pokemon. The only ones that clearly are pokemon are the evolutionary lines of sprigatito, pawmi, smoliv, wattrel, and flamigo.
