Also, again, there are miner classes, construction worker classes, laborers, etc. they often use Pokemon to do their work but they also need to get paid too.

There's some efficiency and better overall tech than our world but it's more likely a lot of the bad things are obfuscated as they're not necessary to show or friendly for kids playing these games. Pokemon isn't a shithole world for the fact they apparently don't have plumbing for instance. On the other hand while we aren't seeing mass droves of homeless we also do know they exist (Emma) and absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.
