I think base rillaboom is decent, but it might be actually use its wood stump like a hammer for generic attack animation. It can break his hammer for a stick and start beating in the signature move animation only

I like this, but the default fire position is fine to evoke a bird's nest. The mowhawk is cool but just kind of a sidegrade. The real issue is that gamefreak is utterly incapable of modeling fire.
