>>53725038He said he liked Gen 6+ more than Gen 1-5, please read the image again. Furthermore, every thing he listed when talking about Gen 1-5 was more on the mechanical side. Is that what he intended to mean? I dunno. But it's how I read it. Just like you seem to be reading into the fact that it's about Gen 5 despite mentioning Gen 2 way more often in the image. Sounds like I'm obsessed with gameplay and you're obsessed with Gen 5 being worse than Gen 6. The difference is, I've made compelling arguments using actual examples. In fact, I'll do it again.
>adventureProbably the campaign, if I had to guess.
>epic momentsCutscenes, hate these things personally, Gen 5 really needed more than fast text speed and the modern games are embarrassing compared to Xenoblade 3 in this regard (every dialogue can be skipped, great for accidentally talking to an NPC and other shit).
>legendsGiven the prominence of actually exploring for legendary Pokemon in these games, I'll go out on a limb saying it's core gameplay, Regis immediately come to mind as a great bit.
>loreThere's some neat stuff to be found in some places, although that's not to say XY or USUM lack this sort of thing entirely either. Shout out to XY bringing up the egg lore for the first time in an actual game. PLA gets less credit for the shrinking thing, I'll blame Nob for not getting it right in Gen 4 though, can't win them all dude.
>explorationThere's the big one, when USUM is probably the peak of exploration the later games offer, that's definitely a problem. And when BW, the region that's literally a circle, has more optional content in the main story than the immediate following first version XY, I feel like that's not a good thing. Maybe SV has more, but the game is so mechanically different it's arguably not a fair comparison for either title.
