I'm not sure what episode I saw first exactly, but I definitely watched some gen 4 anime reruns around the time BW was starting in Cartoon Network, because at the time it ran alongside Bakugan.
The first time I actually saw a pokemon game was seeing another guy play White at a summer camp. A few years later I bought White as my first mainline game, between seeing and buying that I also almost definitely played a few spinoffs on the Wii.
