even ursaluna is much more distinct from ursaring than you're giving it credit for. certainly more different than evolutions like lickilicky and ambipom
I think the problem with them is that most of the new ones keep the same general proportions as their prevos, so they lack the same sense of growth and change that previous crossgen evos had.
I suppose it reduces the chance of people that likes the prevos feeling alienated by the evolutions, but comes at the cost of feeling underwhelming and samey compared to even regular evolutions that usually make a more dramatic spin on the design they're evolving from
