>>53736800It is. A lot of people who are against the changes made by those games are just blinded by nostalgia. Nobody should want the series to stay a linear 2D RPG with random encounters, the games where only like that because of technical limitations and the focus on handheld consoles.
SV are the first step towards the kind of game every kid in the 90 dreamed of while playing Red/Blue: An open-world third person game with overworld Pokémon and overworld battles.
That doesn't stop the games from being a technical mess with no real atmosphere or immersion and what the open-world brings is still very limited but it's their first real try, I didn't expect a Pokémon game with Witcher 3 graphics and atmosphere right after SwSh and PLA.
For now the games feel like a single player MMO to me, everything is vast and empty, the character is small and the third person camera feels like it's made to be an overhead view of the environment instead of an immersive angle bringing you closer to everything around you.There's room for a lot of improvements but, for the first time in like a decade, after all that stagnation, I feel like something new and better is coming.
