>try to get a Pokemon from a nearby Professor
>if unable, I'd ask my parents for help catching a Pokemon on the outskirts of our Town/City (hopefully something cute, like dog or bird pokemon)
>start training with my new bro, making sure he's always happy
>eventually challenge the Gym in my town/city, or travel alone to the nearest gym
